You will be the Mechanical Engineering Designer Sr for an Optical Sensor System. Our team is responsible for developing and implementing detailed designs and layouts of optical sensors, structures, and subassemblies, driving innovation and excellence in the field.

What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Sr, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles

* Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM

* Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence

* Managing drawing releases, answering CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews

* Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, optical performance, and structural/thermal benefits

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering related field

Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and demonstrated knowledge of industry practices.

Capable of performing complex, precision optical tolerance analyses of housings, lenses, and beam forming elements.

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis

Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software

Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications

Have the ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision

Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teamsFamiliarity with optics, sensors, and/or laser range finders.

Familiarity with integrated optical systems.
