The Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems Engineer (EWIS) coordinates all technical aspects of assigned design projects, provides technical support to the production line, and assists with resolution of in-service problems and customer requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish/improve measures to ensure/improve quality of engineering documents.
- Produce and coordinate conceptual layouts for modifications and new designs with other departments and partners to ensure efficiency and compatibility.
- Take active part in the space requirements definition of the wire harness.
- Coordinate with other departments and partners to ensure efficiency and compatibility of design.
- Produce wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and harness data reports from electrical/avionics system schematics and wiring diagrams respecting EMI/HIRF/Lightning while following the EWIS regulation for wire separation and segregation.
- Familiar with advisory circular AC 25.1701, 25.1711, etc.
- Select various components, connectors, back shells, and other parts, involving researching parts catalogues, specifications and contact with vendors.
- Analyze existing wiring diagrams, harness data reports and routing maps, and then provide recommendations for improvements in harness design and installation.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure configuration control and traceability of documentation.
- Support the definition and management requirements for EWIS.
- Support the creation of certification related documents for EWIS.
- Assist in the development of manufacturing, integration, and test process and procedures.
- Supporting system development from concept design to production, resolving and design, manufacturing, and assembly issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in wiring and harness design.
- Familiar with and understand pertinent TCCA, FAA, and EASA rules and requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years or 5,000 hours of CATIA V4 drafting experience is a strong attribute.
- Thorough understanding and experience in configuration/document control.
- Ability to liaise with a wide variety of people within, and outside the company.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software tools to produce presentations and reports.
