Our client, a leader in the utility industry, is seeking a Technician Associate to join their team. As a Technician Associate, you will be part of the design team supporting grid modernization and transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Electrical Technician Associate
**Location: Fort Wayne, IN**
**Pay Rate: $23.57 per hour**
**What's the Job?**
+ Utilize DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for adding grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds.
+ Track due dates for assigned projects and collaborate with the design team and project managers to ensure high-quality designs.
+ Assist in resolving routine problems and provide support to team members as needed.
+ Plan work in accordance with AEP standard practices and maintain accurate records.
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, assisting in the preparation of technical reports.
**What's Needed?**
+ Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or an Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields.
+ Basic computer literacy and knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and seek assistance when necessary.
+ Strong planning and organizational skills to prioritize routine work effectively.
+ Willingness to travel across service territory for project support.
