Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical analysis, CAD design, and testing of complex materials and structural components within missile system products. This role requires proficiency in using advanced structural and design engineering software, particularly Siemens NX, and a solid understanding of GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical analysis, design, or testing of complex materials and structural components.
  • Use advanced structural and product design engineering software tools, along with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Apply engineering principles to adapt or improve upon previous successful designs.
  • Perform design, development, analysis, and testing activities to support projects.
  • Develop and manage test programs to evaluate system elements like materials and components.
  • Document test activities and results.
  • Communicate project status and results through reports or presentations.
  • Create drawing/design packages ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.
  • Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication.
  • Resolve interpretation issues on drawings.
  • Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX 1946 managed with Teamcenter.
  • Liaise with various engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Supervise and direct staff activities as requested.
  • Model fully defined components and assemblies using Siemens NX 1946.
  • Create and revise parametric drawings following established standards.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience, or a Masters degree with 5 years.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret Security clearance or higher.
  • Experience in the missile, launch vehicle, booster, or defense-related industry.
  • ASME Y14.5-2009 certification.
Work Environment

The work environment includes both office and engineering lab settings. Employees will have access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment, working on advanced military and defense programs aimed at protecting the US and its allies. The position requires interaction with cross-functional teams and occasional vendor liaison.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
