What You'll Be Working On As an Electrical Engineer on our team, youll be a hands-on contributor helping design, analyze, prototype, and improve next-generation electronic systems. Your primary focus will be on failure analysis and sustaining engineeringsolving critical technical challenges in real products already in the field. In addition to supporting existing products, youll also have opportunities to contribute to the development of future versions, applying insights gained from current systems to drive next-generation improvements. Youll collaborate with senior engineers to iterate on designs, support production teams, and troubleshoot issues that demand creative, analytical thinking. This role is ideal for someone intellectually curious, self-driven, eager to learn, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, and motivated by collaborative problem-solving. This role will be based in San Carlos, CA, with the possibility of occasional travel. The base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. Core Responsibilities
- Perform detailed failure analysis on complex electronic systems and propose solutions.
- Modify and design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
- Build and prototype hardware, including hands-on soldering, assembly, and testing.
- Use Python to develop test automation scripts and analyze performance data.
- Operate standard lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers, etc.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with senior engineers to improve hardware designs and manufacturing processes.
- Support the sustaining engineering efforts by helping debug and resolve issues found in production and fielded units.
- Document your work with clear test reports, design notes, and troubleshooting records.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- 13 years of experience, or strong project portfolio for new graduates.
- Demonstrated experience with Altium Designer or similar tools for schematic and PCB work.
- Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting skills; comfortable using a soldering iron and working in a lab environment.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.
- Familiarity with failure analysis methods, including root cause investigation and corrective action.
- Ability to use standard EE lab tools effectively and independently.
- Strong analytical mindset with a problem-solving attitude.
- Clear communicator who works well on teams and can explain technical issues effectively.
- Eagerness to learn, a track record of solving interesting problems, and humility in how you approach engineering challenges.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks or data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with embedded systems or microcontroller programming.
- Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles and production support.
