ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyzes complex warehousing and fulfillment opportunities and develop comprehensive cost models to support the chosen solution and pricing approach. Develop the optimal layout and material flow for each solution.
- Lead internal stakeholders in data-driven space utilization planning and facility densification strategies.
- Pricing Strategy Development: Develop and maintain pricing strategies for warehouse services, including storage, handling, and value-added services, considering cost factors, market conditions, and profitability goals.
- Conduct ROI-based assessments of case-specific automation solutions, selecting and implementing technologies that improve capacity or reduce operational costs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of the scope of work and assumptions for all contract logistics opportunities. Identify potential risks and propose alternatives to mitigate risk.
- Actively support the sales process and create high quality, client facing visual presentation materials. Develop and improve Crane's proposal and presentation support or our sales team.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements in automation, robotics, and warehouse technologies, evaluating their potential impact on cost savings, efficiency, and scalability within specific solutions
- Provide analytical support to build out and improve our engineered cost models and data libraries Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in pricing strategies, tools, and processes and work with the team to implement enhancements.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES
5-10 years of experience in warehouse layout, engineering, and design in industries such as third-party logistics (3PL), e-commerce, retail distribution, manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
Hands on experience developing and implementing innovative warehouse solutions that balance cost, efficiency, and scalability.
Expertise in designing warehouse strategies including put-away, picking, replenishment, slotting optimization, and overall workflow design to improve efficiency and throughput.
Expertise with using AutoCAD.
Experience working within warehouse management systems (WMS) and integrating automation into operational workflows.
Experience evaluating and selecting automation solutions such as conveyor systems, sortation equipment, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robotic picking, and AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems).
Demonstrated ability to analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI for various warehouse strategies and automation solutions.
Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics best practices to drive operational improvements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree required, industrial engineering or related preferred
5+ years of industrial engineering or warehousing pricing strategy experience
1-2 years supervisory experience a plus
Must have strong computer skills associated with the utilization of Excel, PowerPoint, Smart Sheets
Other software skills as preferred such as Visio or AutoCAD, Access, Outlook, SQL, Power BI etc.
