Product Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support the STW development process, including preparing Build Requests, Test Requests, and Test Reports for Lead Engineers in Europe, Asia, or Auburn Hills
• Design STW and/ or complete modules to provide maximum quality and functional reliability at optimum customer value
• Create and modify drawings, tolerance stacks, and DFMEAs for new and modified STW designs
• Be able to analyze the results of finite element analysis, dynamic simulation models, and other predictive tools to optimize STW module- and component designs
• Conduct testing (high-speed video of STW deployments, crash test results, etc.) to obtain data on the function and performance of STW modules, and be able to use the data from this testing to develop new - or improve upon existing - STW designs
• Conduct independent root cause analysis studies and propose corrective actions/ design changes that resolve STW performance issues
• Direct and coordinate building or modification of production lines to ensure conformance with the engineered design
• Conduct research studies to develop new products or manufacturing processes that improve quality, reduce cost, and

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering)
• Minimum 2 years practical experience within the automotive industry
