Collins Aerospace is seeking a Reliability Engineer with 2+ years of experience or practical application in working with electronic and mechanical systems and supporting products designed for military and commercial avionic platforms. We are in a new era within Aerospace Reliability Engineering, as new technologies require a new approach to addressing long term reliability. This position will afford the opportunity to develop assessment methodologies and pursue research toward fulfilling this need.

This role will be onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. Relocation assistance is available.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform Reliability Assessments, which includes performing reliability predictions to establish MTBF estimates and component failure rates. These analyses utilize the 217Plus methodology and include utilizing field performance of similar equipment when applicable to increase accuracy of the assessment.

  • Perform Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) and developing Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) profiles. These testing efforts include Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) / Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), and the development of Reliability Enhancement Test (RET) procedures and reports, overseeing and conducting testing, conducting failure review board meetings, and defining corrective actions.

  • Perform Derating analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEAs), High Intensity Radiation Fields (HIRF) and Lightning analysis, Testability analysis and Maintainability Assessments.

  • Perform Neutron Single Event Upset susceptibility analyses.

  • Develop and/or research new reliability engineering analysis and test methods for use with sub-90nm technologies, including multi-core processors, SoPC's, various memory technologies and FPGAs.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • U.S. Person required - Military contract stipulates the candidates must be U.S. Persons

  • Experience and knowledge in reliability engineering, including processes and procedures

  • Experience of writing technical reports

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
