Join our team of experts! As a Mechanical Engineer (MEP), you will use your skills to act as a partner between Powell Project Managers and our customers on projects. You will design and cree layouts and documention within a BIM environment for electrical and mechanical building systems th meet project and technical specificions. You will use computer-aided design (Autodesk Revit) and other specialized software tools to coordine & genere detailed layout plans, schemics, schedules and drawings for electrical and mechanical systems. You will maintain accure and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. You will incorpore best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. You will collabore with engineers and other project members, and you may conduct or participe in site visits to inspect installions or troubleshooting problems. Our engineers and designers are the technical experts for Powell projects. Essential Responsibilities Achieve a detailed understanding of the project scope of work documents (drawings and specificions), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelionships, construction sequencing and project schedule. Facilite problem solving and coordinion, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction. Valide design issues reled to MEP and suggest alternive solutions. Incorpore all MEP changes and as-built informion on field drawings. Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justificion of MEP change work order. Creion, coordinion and administrion of MEP reled merials, systems and shop drawings submittals. Ensure th all MEP coordinion activities adhere to relevant Quality documention/record requirements. Incorporion of Client markups & comments into relevant deliverables. Download drawings and informion from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, ACC, etc.). Must have solid working knowledge of the most current modeling applicions software in use by Powell, including being able to cree, manipule, and coordine Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions. Order merials. Interface with sales, customers and the shop. Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn th direction into approprie, working design documents. Ability to type, proofread, spell check work without supervision. Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy. Fluency for integring da, such as spread sheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects & deliverables. Minimum Qualificions BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or reled area. Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar MEP coordinion role within a BIM environment. Fluency in the current version of Revit software. Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy. Fluency in Autodesk Navis Works, Autodesk Design Review and working knowledge of 3D layout and design. Preferred Qualificions Basic understanding of power systems. Advanced drafting/CAD skills. Skills, Abilities, and other requirements Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel. Ability to cree Revit work sets and an understanding of Revit work sharing process via ACC or similar. Ability to order merials electronically. Document and archive work pursuant with Powell retention requirements. Acknowledgement of any/all Powell confidentially and/or NonDisclosure requirements pursuant to this position. The protection of Proprietary or Intellectual company property. Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary. Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive titude. Effective oral and written communicion skills as required for the position. Ability to be selfmotived, proactive and an effective team player. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others. Working & Environmental Conditions The employee typically performs duties in a normal office environment. There will be some work in the shop environment and exposure to the elements of our shop. Additionally, there may be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
