Senior Controls Engineer
Senior Controls Engineer (Glen Arm, MD): Take ownership of large-scale projects for the design and implementation of new automated systems to control equipment for the corrugated box industry. Projects include enhancements to existing systems and remote monitoring and troubleshooting of equipment in the field. Coordinate the design, development and documentation of all aspects of electrical control systems for equipment and machinery. Mentor others in the design and technical support of electrical and controls system design. knowledge of software from major PLC suppliers to verify and adjust programs to control machinery. Lead others in BOM and CAD documentation. code from obsolete hardware to new hardware to retain functionality. Advise and create documentation of system, software, and configuration processes. Program, simulate and test automated machinery and processes.
Bachelors degree or the foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or a closely related field. Five years of experience with machinery and factory automation. Five years of experience using/programming PLCs, drives, operator interfaces, servos. Five years of experience with Rockwell/AB, GE, Siemens, or B&R. Two years of experience with troubleshooting machine issues in the field and remotely. Five years of experience with ME10 or similar 2D CAD software for controls design. One year of experience using E-Plan CAD software for controls design. Up to 20% local and regional travel to support machine installations and field service personnel.
$144,435 to $150,000/yr + benefits (health insurance, PTO, retirement plan, etc.).
