We are seeking a Senior Technical Director, Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial Center of Excellence (CoE)-setting the technical vision and driving growth across key industrial markets including manufacturing, food & beverage, advanced facilities, and energy transition.

This role is responsible for enterprise-level leadership, overseeing strategy, technical direction, and operational performance of the electrical engineering discipline within our Industrial practice.

Your Impact

  • Define and lead the national strategy and vision for Electrical Engineering across the Industrial CoE
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing business investment, innovation, and growth priorities
  • Drive market expansion and revenue growth across industrial sectors (Manufacturing, Advanced Facilities, Energy, etc.)
  • Establish WSP as a recognized industry leader in industrial electrical systems and infrastructure
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships, including Fortune 500 and global industrial clients
  • Champion innovation, digital delivery, and advanced technologies (smart manufacturing, electrification, decarbonization)
  • Ensure consistent delivery of complex, large-scale industrial projects with technical excellence and quality
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire regional and national leadership teams across electrical engineering

Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategic Leadership

  • Own P&L performance and financial outcomes for electrical engineering within the Industrial CoE
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term growth strategies aligned with WSP's national and global priorities
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives to scale the Industrial CoE across regions

Client & Market Leadership

  • Lead major pursuits and secure high-value, complex industrial projects
  • Expand relationships with key industrial clients and stakeholders
  • Position WSP as a trusted partner for mission-critical industrial infrastructure
  • Represent WSP externally through industry leadership, conferences, and publications

Technical Leadership

  • Set the technical direction and standards for electrical engineering across the Industrial CoE
  • Oversee design excellence across power distribution, medium/high voltage systems, controls, and industrial automation
  • Drive innovation in sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions
  • Ensure alignment with WSP's global technical standards and best practices

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure consistent project delivery performance, QA/QC, and risk management
  • Optimize resource planning, utilization, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Establish scalable delivery models across regions and teams

People & Leadership Development

  • Build, mentor, and develop senior engineering leaders and succession pipelines
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture
  • Lead organizational design and workforce planning for the Industrial CoE
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and integration across WSP business lines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering and leadership roles
  • Proven experience in executive leadership, business growth, and large-scale operations
  • Strong track record managing P&L, strategic growth, and complex project portfolios
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Deep expertise in industrial power systems, manufacturing facilities, and mission-critical environments
  • Recognized as an industry leader with strong external presence and influence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $168,900 - $283,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
