About this RoleA Senior Mechanical Designer at Quanta Power Solutions is responsible for designing, developing, and documenting mechanical systems, components, and assemblies. The role involves creating detailed engineering drawings and 3D models, supporting product development from concept through manufacturing, and collaborating with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and safety requirements.
What You'll Do- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.
- Design mechanical components, equipment, and systems based on engineering requirements.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and revision records.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendors.
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
- Review and approve drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners regarding design requirements.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as:
- SolidWorks
- Autodesk Inventor
- AutoCAD
- PTC Creo
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, or assembly.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and standards.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
