Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Aeronautical Engineer to join our Missile Flight Sciences team in Sunnyvale, CA! This position will have the exciting opportunity support the Aerothermal team, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Using various modeling & simulation methods and techniques to perform fluid dynamic analysis of varying levels of fidelity
Support the modernization of legacy aero environments to inform missile hardware design
Support post-test analysis for various test projects
Ownership of computational, physics-based modeling & simulations from start to finish (development, assessment, results & documentation)
Work and interact with multiple engineering fields across multiple sites
Present key findings and results to internal and external customers & stakeholders
Provide recommendations to support peer and customer reviews
Provide documentation and recommendations to data packages to support key discussions, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and program milestone design reviews

Learn more about Lockheed Martins comprehensive benefits package. Prior work experience or familiar with one or more of the following topics: aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, or computer programming
Experience or familiar with generating CFD grids (2D or 3D, structured or unstructured)
Understanding of inviscid vs. turbulent flows
Experience with any commercial CFD analysis tools (e.g., Ansys Fluent, Siemens Star-CCM+, CFD++, GASP)
Strong mathematical, analytic, and data processing skills
Willingness/ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; US citizenship is required Experience with grid generation using Cadence Pointwise
Experience with PTC Creo
Experience with Linux environments and using High-Performance Computing systems
Academic knowledge or work experience with gas dynamics, rarified gases, turbulence modeling, hypersonic flows, or aeroheating
Strong technical writing proficiency
Knowledge or experience with testing & instrumentation including test procedure development, instrumentation definition, test direction, and post-test model correlation
Experience with modern collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including MS Office proficiency
Active or Current Top Secret clearance
