Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant supervisory experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
Duties and Tasks:
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronics systems
Prepares, plans and arranges the labor, schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating standards and special devices
First level supervision responsible for at least two individuals, typically non-exempt
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders Leads development of strategic tasks or small projects by applying engineering and organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals
Provides technical input to Project or Engineering Management in linking task-related strategy to achieve business goals
Understands and interprets the technical, organizational and process aspects of the task assigned and can relate them to the technical needs of the overall large project or organization
Plans and executes small projects or task elements within larger projects, organizations, or for groups of projects
Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering tasks or small projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering tasks or small projects within area of assigned responsibility
Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans
Participates in development of program strategies and teaming strategies as they relate to the assigned task Participates in the development of executable project plans on proposals
Participates in the proposal process
Directs team members to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies
Assigns tasks and reviews employees work at frequent intervals, participates in performance appraisals, workload planning and scheduling
Drives continuous improvement throughout the group and processes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Fully proficient understanding of project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
Demonstrates self-directed/ self-starting ability and can lead experienced engineers and technicians

Fully proficient knowledge of other related disciplines
Communicates well with managers and teammates
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Target salary range: USD $133,784.00/Yr. - USD $148,417.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
