A Vehicle Design Engineer is needed for an immediate direct hire role in the Augusta, GA area to lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives involving electric vehicle production!
The right person for this role will be vibrant, have a proven passion for value engineering and supplier engagement, and offer creative problem-solving to successfully collaborate with global teams driving value and margin improvement from concept to execution. responsibilities:
- Represent Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) on cross functional new product development teams
- Lead VA / VE projects from concept to launch, overseeing design, analysis, documentation, and product release.
- Lead efforts to improve the financial impact of engineering activities on the business with focus on design feasibility
- Lead technical and project reviews for assigned projects with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Drive technical ownership and collaboration in requirements management, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering change notices for assigned projects
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, 10 years of related experience and be a subject matter expert (SME) in Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives relating to mechanical vehicle or system architecture
- Project Management/leadership skills with expertise with proficiency identifying project risks
- Must be self-motivated, a proven collaborator, able to think creatively, work with others to find solutions, drive execution, and focus on results
- Understanding of vehicle systems such as powertrains, suspensions, chassis, plastics, as well as APQP tools such as requirements definition, DFMEA, DVP&R, control plans, etc.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
