Position Summary: Product Engineer

Location: Amphenol: Valley Green, PA

ACS, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidthelectrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobil Networks, Storage,Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronicsrevolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally.Our global headquarters are located in Wallingford, CT and we have design, salesand manufacturing locations globally.

We are currently seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. The positionwill be located in Valley Green, PA. As a Product Engineer for connectorMezzanine Products you will be responsible for derivative design, customerapplication support, verification and qualification, as well as supporting newbusiness opportunities. This position will serve as the key product engineeringrepresentative in the manufacturing plant to support manufacturing, component,documentation, and quality issues as they arise. The position will work aspart of a global cross-functional team and include customer interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review product drawings and product tolerancing to ensure productperformance requirements are met.Develop innovative product solutions.Utilize 3D CAD software to develop designs.Prepare samples for study.Collect, record, and analyze data.Develop and review product performance specifications.Provide suggestions during incident investigations.Advise on corrective actions.Work with manufacturing engineers to develop a cost-effective and workingproduction process.Ensure projects are completed on time.Ensure designs are cost effective.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringProficient in 3D modeling using SolidworksGeneral understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of theorganization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, TestLab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multipleactivities/projects simultaneously.
