Product Engineer
Job Description
As a Product Engineer at MACOM Technology Solutions, your role will include supporting all aspects of diode-based manufacturing. You will be involved in releasing a diverse portfolio of RF & microwave semiconductor products into mass production. This involves the development of production tests plans to verify product performance, the design and debug of RF test boards for automated test equipment and the statistical analysis of data using sound statistical methodology in order to set test limits and datasheet specifications. As a product engineer, you will interact closely with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Wafer Fabrication, and Reliability Engineering to analyze and resolve issues as they relate to your product responsibility. You will work with internal and offshore assembly and test facilities supporting them with visual, test and yield issues. A strong semiconductor product characterization and test background and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines at different geographical locations worldwide are essential to the success of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate production tests plans to verify product performance
- Set up and perform lab DC and RF measurements
- Supporting product management reviewing customer drawings, participating in customer conference calls, part cross references, reviewing cost models
- Analyzing data using sound statistical methodology
- Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product
- Ensure product extension releases are successful and on schedule
- Working with wafer fabrication converting existing part numbers currently using purchased material to MACOM based wafers
- DC and RF Characterization of engineering wafers as they exit the Wafer Fab and conversion to production product
- Supporting all aspects of manufacturing to ensure product is shipped on time
- Monitoring test yields and focusing on improving yields to increase profitability and output of existing products
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with 0-3 years of experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of RF & microwave semiconductor products including diodes, amplifiers, switches, attenuators, phase shifters, converters, and limiters
- Strong DC/RF microwave test and measurement skills
- Experience in the characterization of semiconductor devices
- Ability to analyze data using sound statistical methodology and effectively present technical information
- Exceptional communication skills to interface with internal cross-functional teams and subcontractors

Salary Range
The Salary Range for this position is $71,000 - $94,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
