Role OverviewThe Process Engineer II is responsible for process engineering design functions including combustion and steam turbine auxiliary systems, process equipment, instrumentation and control integration, and start-up support for MPW-A power projects in the Americas. The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree and 3-5 years of experience with an EPC firm or combustion/steam turbine OEM, demonstrating strong initiative, communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare heat and material balances and process flow diagrams (PFDs)Develop P&IDs and process data sheets for instrumentation and equipmentApply process instrumentation and control principles and review hydraulic calculationsSupport control valve specification, heat exchanger thermal calculations, and pump sizingUnderstand design workflows and engineering work processesMaintain strong knowledge of Mitsubishi Power technologies and participate in a collaborative work environmentContribute to SOPs, work instructions, and support CAPA process activitiesSupport team initiatives, customer service, innovation, and multicultural work environments

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and 3-5 years of EPC or OEM experienceExperience with P&ID management, hydraulic calculations, and heat and material balance preparationStrong analytical skills and practical understanding of simple and combined cycle power plant designExperience with combustion or steam turbine auxiliary system design and commissioningExperience with HAZOP, SIL reviews, punch-out, and startup activities; hands-on Smart Plant P&ID experienceTechnical understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and P&IDs; multilingual skills beneficialAdvanced MS Excel skills; willingness to learn VBA if neededExcellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort presenting to groupsAbility to travel up to 20% to customer offices and construction sites as required
