Lead Engineer

Location: Hopkinsville, KY
Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $120,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
We're seeking a Lead Engineer who excels both hands-on and in guiding a small technical team. This is a true player-coach role: you'll work directly on complex technical challenges while setting direction, developing talent, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a small engineering team - mentor, set expectations, and foster a collaborative environment
• Drive projects end-to-end - from initial assessment and design through final delivery
• Coordinate across departments - act as the technical link ensuring clarity and alignment
• Troubleshoot and repair complex systems - including mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment
• Develop and review technical documentation - drawings, schematics, and supporting materials
• Improve processes and quality - continuously refine workflows and team capabilities

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Background in hands-on technical environments preferred

Technical Skills

• Hands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics
• Practical experience with maintenance and troubleshooting

Leadership Skills

• Proven success leading technical projects
• Strong communicator across teams and with customers
• Self-driven, improvement-oriented mindset
