ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- On-site at GM (on days when GM is in office) customer-facing interaction and support. When not at GM, report to Carlex Troy, MI office.
- 3D assembly and component design considering vehicle interface, design standards, material standards, and best practices.
- 2D drawings creation, review, and release.
- Working within the GM Teamcenter environment.
- Working within the Carlex Teamcenter environment.
- Miscellaneous layouts and design studies.
- GD&T development to meet customer build and manufacturability requirements.
- Participate in part specific DFMEA development.
- Prepare customer design specific documentation as required (i.e. presentations and cross sections to communicate information).
- Advanced / Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
- Previous experience with General Motors design and engineering release systems.
- Valid driver’s license required for business travel.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays.Excellent Analytical Skills.Actively participate in both internal and external cross functional meetings led by program management and engineering.
