Test Engineer (Entry-Level) - RF Test Automation Platform

Overview
We are looking for a motivated and curious Test Engineer to join our team supporting a global RF and microwave test automation platform. This system enables advanced measurement and characterization across labs worldwide, integrating with industry-leading test equipment and automating complex workflows for semiconductor device evaluation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop both software and hands-on lab experience while working alongside a highly collaborative and supportive engineering team.
What You'll Work On
- You will contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of a sophisticated, Python-based test and measurement platform that:
- Automates RF and microwave test systems across global lab environments
- Supports both discrete test setups and integrated analyzer platforms (e.g., Keysight PNA-X, Rohde & Schwarz ZNA)
- Executes advanced measurement routines using built-in analyzer capabilities
- Leverages a database-driven architecture for data storage, security, and asset tracking
- Enables automated wafer probing, temperature cycling, and complex test sequencing
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance software features within a Python-based test automation framework
- Design and implement new methods for data processing, organization, and visualization
- Build tools for real-time test status monitoring and equipment availability tracking
- Support lab activities, including system validation and troubleshooting of automated measurements
- Work directly with engineers locally and globally to configure and deploy complex test setups
- Create custom automation solutions for new programs and applications
- Develop data analysis and plotting routines for engineering insights and reporting
- Contribute ideas to improve system performance, efficiency, and usability
Technologies & Equipment
You will gain exposure to a wide range of RF test equipment and systems, including:
- Vector Network Analyzers (Keysight PNA-X, Rohde & Schwarz ZNA)
- Signal Generators, Power Meters, Noise Figure Meters
- Digital Multimeters and Oscilloscopes
- Automated wafer probing systems and thermal test platforms
- (Prior experience is a plus but not required-training will be provided.)
Qualifications
- BS or MS in one of: Electrical Engineering, ECE, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
- Strong programming skills in Python (required)
- Java script and/or Typescript skills
- Linux skills
- Interest in software development, test systems, or automation
- A strong interest in RF and microwave engineering is highly desirable; prior exposure or experience is a plus but not required
- Exposure to data analysis, automation, or lab-based projects is beneficial
- Can-do attitude

RSU Eligible
This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM's discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
Salary Range
The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 - $101,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
