Overview: This role will focus on labor planning, plant layout design, capacity modeling, workflow optimization, and production efficiency improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting assembly line operations, creating AutoCAD 2D facility and production layouts, analyzing takt time versus cycle time, and improving throughput across the plant. This position will balance desk-based engineering work with hands-on production floor support while collaborating closely with operations and engineering teams to solve problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Job Duties: Develop and maintain plant and production line layouts using AutoCAD 2D Create proposal drawings and facility layouts for workstations, material flow, cranes, carts, and production lines Analyze labor requirements, staffing models, takt time, cycle time, and production capacity to meet customer demand Perform labor planning and routing analysis to support manufacturing operations Support line balancing and workflow optimization initiatives Conduct time studies and work measurement analysis to establish labor utilization standards Evaluate facility layout, equipment placement, and process flow to improve efficiency and reduce waste Coordinate process planning and manufacturing setup during New Product Introduction (NPI) Assist with troubleshooting and operational support when production issues arise Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and production teams to implement process improvements Communicate technical changes effectively to production personnel and stakeholders Support Lean Manufacturing, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in plant walkthroughs, operational reviews, and implementation of manufacturing changes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field Experience in manufacturing, assembly line, or high-volume production environments preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D required Experience creating plant/facility layouts and workflow drawings strongly preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt in a fast-changing manufacturing environment Experience supporting production floor operations preferred Lean Manufacturing exposure is a plus, but not required Exposure to NPI environments and production ramp-ups is a plus, but not required Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
