Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team that designs and delivers large-scale industrial process equipment. These complex and capital-intensive projects may involve up to two years of engineering and design work, with a focus on integrating various subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Translate project requirements and scope of work provided by Project Engineers into design deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with the shop floor and fabrication teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Conduct regular shop walkthroughs to support production, resolve issues, and validate designs.
• Focus on design execution within a highly integrated engineering and manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• 7+ years of Mechanical Design Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• 5+ years of experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
• Experience in a fabrication setting.
• Understanding of welding symbols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Plant 3D and piping design.
• Thermal Systems experience.
• Pulp & Paper industry experience.

Work Environment

This position requires full on-site work with a schedule of 8.5 hours from Monday to Thursday and 8 hours on Friday. Every fourth Friday is a day off.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, BC.

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.89/hr.
