Join Our Team as a Principal Circuit Design Engineer where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics product in a world class Integrated Product Development environment.

Location: This position does not support teleworking ;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program at Lockheed Martin has a long and proud history of supporting the US Navy in its mission of Strategic Deterrence since the inception of the Polaris missile program in December of 1956. We are developing the next-generation of flight avionics for the D5 Life Extension 2 program which will form backbone of the submarine launched ballistic missile program until the year 2084.

What does this role look like?

This role is for a Product Realization Lead who will lead all engineering disciplines in the release of engineering documentation, acquisition of materials, construction of hardware, and on-time delivery of that hardware to the assembly, integration & test location (AI&T). For development, the primary integration location will be Building 352 (Trident Development Laboratory) on the Lockheed Martin Waterton campus in Littleton, CO. Starting in FY2029, AI&T will transition to the Missile Integration and Test Facility (MISF) located at the Strategic Warfare Facility (SWF) at Strategic Warfare Atlantic (SWFLANT) in Kings Bay, GA.

The position will require both a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, as well as demonstrated experience leading large scale product

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

This role is reports directly to the D5LE2 Tactical Avionics Sr Engineering Mgr.
This role will encompass all Development and Production scope for both the Test Missile Kit (TMK2) and the Tactical Avionics portion of the D5LE2 missile.
Lead the development and release process of all engineering artifacts required to support build of circuit card assemblies, connectors, enclosures, cable harnesses, and other miscellaneous materials need to support the build process.
Be the single engineering authority for all subcontracts actions including SOW, Specs, RFP, Proposal technical evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier technical direction.
Lead the technical execution of CCA build and test at suppliers and support CCA test planning and execution at the AI&T facility.
Support the smooth transition of product to the AI&T facility and ensure clean handoff.
Report status of all deliverables to the D5LE2 TMK2 and Tactical Avionics program managers (PMs).
Provide technical guidance and status to Executive leadership including the FBM Director of Avionics and the D5LE2 Program Director.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

Prior leadership roles culminating in the delivery of flight avionics products for high-reliability military applications.
12+ years professional experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance , thus you are a US Citizen .

Lets do Space! Bachelors in an Engineering or related STEM discipline.

Experience in circuit card design, manufacturing, and/or test.

History of engineering leadership roles culminating in the delivery of flight avionics products for high-reliability military applications.

An active DoD Secret security clearance is required. MS in an Engineering or related STEM discipline.
Background in supply chain and/or subcontracts management.
Experienced at leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
Experience on Space and/or Missile Defense Missions.
Experience performing electronics analysis (Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis).
Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
