Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Qualifications: 15+ years overall experience Prior experience in infusion pump domain is a plus A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products such as military hardwareKnowledge and experience in design of embedded microcontroller based electronics devices, including FPGA-based, digital and analog designExperience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirementsKnowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred), Matlab and data acquisition software (LabVIEW)Good knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 61010, UL, ANSI, AIM and ASTMSpecific experience in design and development of sensing subsystems highly desirableSenior Principal Engineer Summary: You will develop creative solutions to challenging problems associated with the design of our new and existing infusion system product portfolioThe successful candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patientsJob Duties: Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirementsContributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architecturesCreates designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller-based systems, meeting performance objectivesAnalyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applicationsEnsures successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the systemCompletes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architectureDevelops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications, and drawingsSupervises/coordinates engineers and/or technicians on assigned to execute the projectDefines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirementsMentor the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelinesGood experience in designing products for meeting EMI/EMC/ESD compliance requirementsTransitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processesDevelops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partnersResolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to marketImplements data acquisition and analysis techniques to characterize design performanceExecutes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s)Leads the troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systemsCreates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables, and statusManages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones**Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.** **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client's business needs and requirements.**
