Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Warranty Engineer I-II, based out of our Greenville, North Carolina Headquarters office. What You Will Do:- Qualify and process warranty and vendor recovery claims.
- Analyze parts and review data submitted by the dealer and customer network.
- Review claim descriptions and assess whether the correct work was performed to achieve the desired outcome.
- Communicate with customers, dealers, engineering groups, Supply Chain, and vendors regarding issue awareness and resolution.
- Support dealers by providing clarification on claim concerns through interpretation of warranty policies and DCNs.
- Initiate and/or perform failure analysis of returned parts using measuring devices and equipment.
- Determine failure modes and perform root cause analysis using 8D, DMAIC, or similar methods.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through cross-functional collaboration across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and all functional areas within the organization.
- Skilled in communicating technical information clearly and professionally.
- Able to provide creative solutions to complex technical and warranty-related issues.

- Proficient in preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations
- Batchelors degree in Engineering.
- Knowledge in the fields of part, system, and manufacturing analysis.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems.
- Understanding of vehicle architecture and related mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to utilize test equipment and measuring equipment to determine part compliance.
- Knowledge of warranty administration policies and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Dealers and Customers in a courteous manner.
- Ability to document findings and provide input for financial and process-related audits.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with technical reporting and presentations.
- Minimum of 1 year of on-the-job experience processing and analyzing warranty data.
- Experience working with and presenting to cross-functional teams and management.
- Training and/or seminar participation in communication skills and meeting management.
- Engineering knowledge related to vehicle architecture and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience utilizing business systems including NWO, NOMS, CORE, AS400, and SLMS.
- Knowledge of HYMH engineering, manufacturing problem-solving, and reporting processes.
- Ability to complete financial analysis on potential Field Product Improvements (FPI).
- Ability to create Warranty Statements for changes in warranty coverage and special customers.
- The Warranty Engineer is responsible for processing, testing, and determining the validity of warranty claims within the boundaries of Warranty policy and applicable Warranty Statements.
- Processed claims provide a pathway for continuous improvement by cross-functional Engineering teams throughout the organization.
- The role interfaces with Supply Chain and vendors to maximize recovery opportunities and improve supplier quality.
- The Warranty Engineer II plays a key role in representing the Warranty Department on cross-functional Process Continual Improvement projects, including SLMS and other process enhancements impacting Warranty.
- Responsibilities include documenting and providing input to internal and external audits, both financial and process related.
- The role requires broad technical knowledge of lift truck parts and systems and how those systems interact to determine failure modes and conduct root cause analysis investigations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required for collaboration with internal departments, Dealers, customers, and suppliers.
- The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
