JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of highly configurable industrial mixing products, including the development of new products, redesign and optimization of existing products, as well as discontinuation of legacy products. This role focuses on improving product performance, reliability and manufacturability through engineering analysis, design updates, and testing. Evaluates technical and economic feasibility of engineering solutions and implementing corrective actions based on root cause analysis. Highly collaborative with cross-functional teams across the globe to maintain product standards, enhance quality, and ensure continued operational success across a large product portfolio.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform engineering calculations to verify product sizing, performance, and capacity for components such as gearboxes, structural elements, lubrication systems, and sealing devices.
- Create and maintain 3D models, assembly layouts, and manufacturing drawings in compliance with internal and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within ERP systems across multiple global manufacturing sites.
- Defines and executes project plans in coordination with cross-functional teams to meet customer or market needs.
- Organize, conduct, and analyze test data and reports to verify conformance with specifications and identify corrective actions.
- Support development and review of product documentation such as assembly procedures, manuals, and design standards.
- Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Provide technical support for internal functions and technical sales.
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) activities including reviews, risk assessments, and prototyping.
- Contribute to Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001) and support audits.
- Execute design activities to ensure compliance with global regulations (OSHA, ASME, CE, ATEX, REACH).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Understanding of gearbox, drive systems or rotating equipment design (gears, bearings, shafts, etc.)
- Structural analysis including stress calculations, fatigue and natural frequency. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) a plus.
- Foundational understanding of New Product Development Stage Gate processes and its deliverables such as risk assessment, project schedules, Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA), test reports, cost estimates, etc.
- Must have extensive experience in reading and creating manufacturing drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- 2D and 3D CAD skills required; AutoCAD and Inventor preferred.
- Proficient in an ERP systems; SAP preferred.
- Must have ability/experience in reading, analyzing, and interpreting safety rules, product instruction manuals, and laboratory test programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Efficient in reading and writing technical reports as well as comprehension of legal and financial language.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent
- 1 - 3 years of experience in mechanical design or product development

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise level while on the production floor.
The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
As demand allows the option to work remote from home is available on a hybrid schedule basis (e.g. 3 days at facility, 2 days at home).

Anticipated salary range for this position: $67,500/yr. to $93,960/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
