Industrial Engineer - Tier I Automotive Manufacturing

Summary

The Industrial Engineer supports a fastpaced Tier I automotive facility producing compressionmolded components. The role focuses on time studies, line balancing, plant layout design, and process optimization to improve productivity, reduce cost, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Work Standards - Establish and maintain labor and machine cycle time standards.
• Time Studies - Perform detailed studies using Work Factor, MTM, and other predetermined motion/time systems.
• Line Balancing - Analyze labor and equipment utilization to optimize production lines.
• Plant Layouts - Develop and update facility, equipment, and process layouts using AutoCAD.
• Process & Material Flow - Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase throughput.
• Continuous Improvement - Support lean initiatives, costreduction projects, and productivity improvements.
• Work Sampling - Conduct studies for indirect labor efficiency.
• Capacity Analysis - Support short and longterm planning with capacity and utilization studies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to validate improvements and present datadriven recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-5+ years in industrial engineering within manufacturing (automotive preferred).
• Strong experience in time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
• Proficiency with Work Factor, MTM, and other predetermined time systems.
• Experience creating plant and process layouts (AutoCAD).
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering preferred).

Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts.
• Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced production environment.
• Detailoriented with strong documentation skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
