Volt is immediately hiring for Sr. Manufacturing Engineer/CMM Programmer - in Andover, MA 01810
What are the main functions of this role:
Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve production processes in a structured environment, building expertise in manufacturing operations, cost, quality, safety, and delivery. This role focuses on CMM programming and inspection for complex 3D metal parts used in advanced systems.
What You Will Do:
* Develop and maintain CMM programs, inspection plans, and inspection setups
* Translate engineering drawings into manufacturing and inspection documentation
* Analyze process issues, manage non-conforming parts, and lead root cause & corrective actions
* Use data (SPC, metrology) to improve process capability and prevent defects
* Support new product introductions and ongoing production
* Collaborate with operations, quality, and cross-functional engineering teams
* Drive continuous improvement and standardize inspection processes
This is 6 months Full- time- contract with possible extension opportunity.
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
* 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or inspection
* Hands-on experience with CMM programming and inspection methods
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Desired Skill Sets:
* Experience with complex parts (4+ axis machining environments)
* Knowledge of Creo or similar CAD software
* Familiarity with paint, plating, and assembly processes
* Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
Experience with CORE / Six Sigma methodologies
Years of Experience Required (if any): 5-8+ years.
Education level required:
* Typically requires/prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
Pay Range: $65.00 - $72.00 per hour.
* Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
