About the Role

LHH is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our clients team in Northeast Ohio. This role is ideal for someone passionate about innovative product development, precision engineering, and hands-on problem-solving. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, test, and refine products that meet rigorous quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop: Create and optimize mechanical and/or electrical designs for new and existing products using CAD tools.

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs meet global certifications and regulatory requirements for safety and performance.

  • Prototyping & Testing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to build prototypes, conduct performance tests, and implement design improvements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Apply Six Sigma principles and other quality methodologies to enhance product reliability and efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, operations, and quality teams to align design objectives with business goals.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate design documentation, specifications, and revision histories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in product design or engineering roles.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Familiarity with compliance standards and global certifications for product design.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
