TheDepartment of Facility Maintenance (DFM),Storm Water Quality Division, is recruiting for four (4)Civil Engineer IIIpositions at Kapolei Hale.

What You Will Do

• Assist with professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program.
• Plan, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.
• May participate in periodic cross training and supplementary work activities within the division to comply with regulatory obligations.

Salaries for positions at the Department of Facility Maintenance are commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval: $6,528 to $7,317 per month

The Department ofEnvironmental Services(ENV), is recruiting for one (1) Civil Engineer IIIposition in the Refuse Collection & Disposal Division and one (1) position in theOffice of Administrative Support Division.

What You Will Do

• Perform routine to moderately complex professional engineering work under general supervision
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all technical and administrative activities of simple projects assigned
• Assist higher level engineers on more complex projects and tasks

The Department ofDesign and Construction (DDC) is recruiting for one (1) Civil Engineer IIIposition in the Civil Division and one (1) position in theFacilities Division.

What You Will Do

• Perform professional engineering work under general supervision including contract administration and compliance oversight for various facets of construction projects
• Plan, organize, and manage assigned Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funded projects
• Assist higher level engineers on more complex projects and tasks

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Two year(s) of non-registered professionalcivil engineering experience.

Applicable Skills NeededKnowledge of:

• civil engineering principles and practices
• Engineering mathematics and mechanics of materials
• Topographic surveying principles and practices
• Structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering concepts as they apply to civil engineering

Ability to:

• perform civil engineering design work and supervise construction and inspection activities
• analyze stresses and determine the required foundations and structural features
• supervise a small group of subordinate employees
• prepare engineering and inspection reports

Substitution: A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.

NON-QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Work experience while in an engineering student intern positionwill not be creditable as equivalent to professional engineering experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required.
