Ergonomics Engineer General

Position Description:
Position is with Battery Manufacturing Engineering - support program work for Industrial Engineering needs (study responses, capacity strategy analysis, time study) as well as Ergonomic analysis of assembly workstations.
Provide technical expertise for the interpretation/implementation of ergonomic-related PTME Standards for new model programs, as per the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure on NE new model powertrain programs.
Complete and document ergonomic assessments for new model programs, as per the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure.
Complete key deliverables and associated documentation of the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure, including High Hurts review, working with the Local Ergonomics Committee (LEC) members, the Electrical Connector Review (ECR), Joint Connector Review (JCR), supplier run-off, and plant launch support. Process steps include an ergonomic evaluation using digital human modeling tools.
Work cross-functionally with Safety, Digital Assembly, Product Design, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MP&L, and LEC to ensure that the ergonomic risk factors within a work cell (including product, process, tooling, racks) meet the ergonomic guidelines.
Key role in assisting with ergonomic solutions through the evaluation of ergonomic resolutions utilizing Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, JACK software, Ergo Web, and other approved assessment tools.
Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative ergonomic solutions and industry best practices through continuous benchmarking and research, driving improvements in workplace safety, efficiency, and employee well-being. Support the development of ergonomic standards.
Support PTME Global Ergonomic meetings.
Skills Required:
Industrial Engineering. Analyze and assess ergonomic risk using an advanced digital human modeling toolset.
Experience Required:
Experience with Ergonomic analysis as well as Industrial Engineering.
Minimum (3) years of experience in the field of ergonomics
Project management skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent computer skills
Experience in a team-based environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Minimum (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience Preferred:
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and a diverse team
Ability to effectively work in both upfront engineering and plant environments
Ability to effectively identify and analyze ergonomic issues, and develop with engineering teams
Flexibility in work schedule and ability to travel
Willingness to work in a virtual environment using digital human modeling tools.
Experience in Teamcenter, Process Simulate, and Ergo web is preferred.
Education Required:
BS in Industrial Engineering, BA / BHK in Kinesiology or equivalent
Additional Information :
This will be a Hybrid position - a mix of on-site work between the Product Development Center and the Engineering Lab, as well as work at vendor sites.
We have a minimum 4-day-per-week requirement to be in the office; the 5th day is typically spent on-site at a supplier location for meetings or equipment reviews.
