Technical Director, Operations

Join a dynamic team shaping the future of mobile gaming as our Technical Director, Operations in a start-up environment. In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture, infrastructure, and platform engineering efforts that power our portfolio of live and upcoming products. As a hands-on leader, you will champion scalable, secure, high-performance systems supporting millions of players across iOS and Android platforms, ensuring our infrastructure remains resilient and innovative in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

Expert proficiency in backend languages such as Node.js, Go, Java, C#, or Python

Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, caching, and API design

Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure

Proven ability to manage SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB

Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly

Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience supporting mobile build pipelines for iOS and Android

Familiarity with telemetry tools, logging, and monitoring dashboards

Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Kubernetes certifications

Background in game infrastructure or large-scale live service environments

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields; Master's preferred

8+ years of backend or platform engineering experience

3+ years in a senior technical leadership role supporting live consumer applications

Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, database optimization, and platform engineering in gaming or similar industries

Other Requirements:

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment supporting live products

Willingness to be on-call for critical incident management

Certifications in cloud computing, Kubernetes, or project management are advantageous
