Product Design Engineer

A leading manufacturing organization in the Fort Lauderdale, FL metro area is seeking a Product Design Engineer. In this role, you will take a hands-on, leading role in the design, development, and optimization of critical aerospace safety devices. You will bridge the gap between initial concept and final production, ensuring all components meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, alongside 5+ years of hands-on component design experience working with steel and aluminum. High proficiency with 3D CAD software is required, with SolidWorks expertise and familiarity with FEA or GD&T strongly preferred. This is a direct-hire position, and our client is only seeking local talent currently.

responsibilities:

• Lead and optimize design plans, selecting appropriate components and materials to minimize cost while strictly ensuring all safety, regulatory, and functional requirements are met
  
  
• Analyze complex data to develop and refine designs for mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and electromechanical components and systems
  
  
• Design sophisticated components and systems that maximize customer value, focusing on improved economy, operational safety, advanced control, and peak performance
  
  
• Direct and coordinate the fabrication, building, or modification of prototype equipment, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to ensure strict conformance with engineering designs
  
  
• Author and execute comprehensive qualification reports to prove designs meet operational performance and specifications. Troubleshoot, alter, and modify existing designs to resolve performance gaps and optimize functionality
