About Crossroads School
Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, located in Santa Monica and a 20-minute drive to downtown Los Angeles, is a progressive, independent, K-12, co-educational day school with nearly 1,200 students. Crossroads was founded in 1971 on five basic commitments: to academic excellence; to the arts; to the greater community; to the development of a student population of social, economic, and racial diversity; and to the development of each student's physical well- being and full human potential. From the beginning, Crossroads has provided a student-centered approach to education, with a dedication to diversity and involvement in the community. The school's ongoing commitment to its founding commitments, coupled with a robust financial aid fund, has contributed to the School's racially, economically, geographically, and culturally inclusive student community. Crossroads' unique K-12 program is built on a progressive, developmental model of education with many of its programs on the cutting edge of education.
While Crossroads has strong academic programs in all disciplines, the school is renowned for its programs in the sciences, in the arts, and in human development. Crossroads' selective admission process is driven by high demand and application volume. As a result, Crossroads has the privilege to shape enrollment with truly exceptional students who come with a range and depth of interests, talents, and diversity.
