Job Description:
Lead development or redesign of mechanical products
Assuming responsibility for execution of activities including mechanical design, mechanical analysis, engineering documentation, costing, and scheduling.
Develop and/or supervise design concepts, calculations, layouts, parts, assemblies, pneumatic schematics, and detail drawings
Ensure that drawings, documentation and BOM’s meet company, industry and customer standards
Monitor and provide mechanical engineering support during the flow of a design through fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning
Work with design groups to resolve product-related issues and ensure resolution of manufacturing problems
Work closely with Procurement to ensure a timely order of materials
Develop and maintain good customer relations and provide technical support to the customer
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and modify existing designs
Complex problem-solving skills: Identify problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions
Judgment and decision-making skills: considering the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
Familiarity with electro-mechanical products and / or processes and ability to optimize designs for manufacturing
Proven 2D / 3D CAD skills (CREO 20.7 / Windchill, SolidWorks, FEA and AutoCAD)
Knowledge and experience with ERP systems
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and sheet metal design, including drafting, tolerance stack-up analysis, manufacturability, and production considerations.
PC Skills and able to use Microsoft products
Requirements:
BS Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine design preferably in material handling industry
