Job Description
Responsibilities:
Responsible to identify, design and develop a product/product family.
Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.
Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.
They receive and process changes required by clients, released on production (not launches), at a SR Level, responsible to develop the product from the concept up to the SOP on a limited basis (if it is a BTP, Built to Print) or as a full development as an FSS, Full-Service Supplier.
May develop, uncover, characterize, and assess strategic new products and/or product extensions.
Transforms and adopts discoveries to ensure research and development activities will maintain an organization's competitive position.
May also focus on pure research and/or design and implementing the manufacturing processes and equipment for the product
Heavy travel, up to 35-40%
Requirements:
Experience: 4 - 8+ years of experience in product engineering, with direct experience in a Tier 1 automotive or OEM manufacturing environment.
Core Tools: Proficient in AIAG core tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), Control Plans, and SPC.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
Knowledge Base: Specific expertise in IP, door panel, consoles
Preferred:
Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
IATF 16949 auditor certification.
Education:
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
