Job Title: Technical Designer
Duration: 9-Months

Job Description:
We are seeking an individual contributor responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit. This role focuses on analyzing and evaluating garments to develop correct fit specifications. The Technical Designer ensures products are developed consistently with established fit quality standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications. This position develops technical specifications and communicates fit requirements to vendors and factories for approvals and corrections. The role involves making appropriate adjustments with factories as needed to maintain design integrity of approved prototypes while monitoring quality and target price. This position typically reports to the Technical Services Manager and may oversee Assistant Technical Designers.

Garment analysis and evaluation for correct fit specifications
Development of technical specifications and tech packs
Vendor/factory communication for fit approvals and corrections
Quality monitoring and cost-target management
Pattern making and grading knowledge (preferred)
Proficiency in PLM software, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel
Requirements for the role:
Ability to execute fit sessions independently (live model or mannequin)
Strong understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and manufacturing capabilities
Ability to balance design integrity, quality standards, and cost specifications
Experience making pattern adjustments and communicating corrections to factories
Detail-oriented with strong measurement and spec-writing skills
Ability to manage multiple styles/product categories simultaneously
May require experience overseeing or training assistant-level technical designers
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion (Apparel Design, Product Development, Textiles, or related field) OR equivalent work experience
