JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for).
Engineer position supports the planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects. This role involves project scoping, engineering design, cost estimating, regulatory compliance, and construction support for new and replacement pipeline assets. The engineer works closely with Project Management, Operations, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with 49 CFR Part 192 and internal company standards.
2. What does a typical day look like?
A typical day could include several of the following tasks:
Update project tracking list with current project status. Prepare design drawings and service spreadsheets. Research existing asset information. Prepare and/or review operating procedures. Prepare project Stage Gate documentation. Attend meetings: Project CFT's, trainings, staff meetings, coordination meetings, etc.
6. Describe work environment / team culture (supportive/collaborative, teamwork or individual contributor)?
Each engineer is an individual contributor with their own portfolio of projects. The greater team is highly supportive and collaborative of each other's' work.
7. Can you elaborate on any potential risks or safety considerations associated with this role, particularly if the responsibilities extend beyond a standard desk or office environment?
Engineer is encouraged to visit project field locations for planning or construction support. Varying field conditions present different hazards that are usually discussed and identified on site. PPE required for field work.
9. What are the work hours/shift (standard, evening, full time/part time, OT required, on-call for 24/7 operation)?
Core business hours are 8am - 3pm. Flexibility with work schedules can be discussed depending on circumstances.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
Project Development & Scoping
Scope engineering projects using input from various sources, including Operations, Asset Management, regulatory drivers, and capital planning initiatives.
Research and review engineering documentation, including asbuilt drawings, records, and historical data for existing assets.
Develop preliminary project concepts and identify constructability considerations early in the project lifecycle.
Prepare and initiate cost estimates to support project authorization and budgeting.
Project Execution & Controls
Follow established company stagegate and governance procedures to create work orders and advance projects through approval milestones.
Coordinate with the Project Management team to support scheduling, budgeting, and execution planning.
Interface with external engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors to support project delivery.
Engineering Design
Utilize CAD software to design new pipeline installations and replacement assets in accordance with company standards.
Develop engineering drawings, redlines, and design packages suitable for construction.
Apply strong working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 and internal engineering standards to ensure all designs meet regulatory and company requirements.
Construction & Field Support
Provide engineering support throughout the construction phase of projects.
Respond to field issues by evaluating conditions and issuing timely design changes or clarifications as needed.
Update drawings, specifications, and documentation to reflect approved construction changes.
Procedures & Commissioning
Write and revise procedures for inservicing and commissioning of new or replacement assets.
Support coordination activities with Operations and Construction to ensure safe and compliant asset turnover.
Assist with postconstruction documentation and records management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Pipeline, or related discipline).
Familiarity with engineering drawings and use of CAD software.
Working knowledge or coursework exposure to 49 CFR Part 192 and pipeline safety regulations preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Detailoriented with a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a projectbased environment.
Willingness to learn company standards, procedures, and stagegate processes.
