\n We are looking for a talented and experienced Product Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing and developing innovative products that meet customer needs.

\n

\n \n

\n This is a direct position Michigan City, Indiana with a publicly traded supplier to the commercial vehicle market. In this position, you will design new wiper systems, control products, commercial vehicle electronics and components.

\n \n

\n

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES: \n \n

\n \n \n - Manage design projects from concept through production.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products from concept to production

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Conduct research and analysis to identify customer needs and market trends

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Create detailed product specifications and design documentation

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Develop and test prototypes to ensure product quality and reliability

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufactured to meet design specifications

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Continuously evaluate and improve product designs based on customer feedback and market trends

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Prepare original\/revised design layouts based on customer CAD data and specifications.

\n \n

\n \n \n - Prepare cost estimates for new or revised designs.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Develop, document, implement departmental procedures in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.

\n \n

\n \n \n - Maintain current knowledge of sound engineering practices, manufacturing processes, FMVSS regulations, and SAE or other applicable standards.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Apply knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering procedures, and CAD system to identify most effective methods, equipment, and processes.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Verify designs for design intent, specifications, and quality.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Provide technical product expertise to all internal\/external relationships.

\n \n \n

\n

Requirements \n \n \n - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - 2 -5 years of experience in product design and development

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Strong knowledge of CAD software and 3D modeling tools (CATIA, CREO, NX or similar)

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Experience with rapid prototyping and testing

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Strong communication and collaboration skills

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Ability to work independently and as part of a team

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Additional courses or experience in CAD Design methods, FEA, Kinematics, simulation tools, and mechanisms desirable as appropriate to the position.

\n \n \n

\n \n \n - Strategic thinker - mindful of overall company\/corporate goals

\n \n \n \n

\n \n \n - Travel Requirements: must be able to fulfill occasional travel, domestic & international, to other facilities, customers, and vendors.

\n \n \n
