Responsibilities
Lead project management efforts supporting new product development, from prototype builds through high-volume production, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Utilize process improvement methodologiesincluding value stream mapping, workflow optimization, data analytics, ROI/payback analysis, Lean, and Six Sigmato identify opportunities for operational, quality, and cost improvements.
Participate in and facilitate brainstorming sessions and cross-functional operations teams to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
Direct and lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the Machine Shop coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution, communication, and results.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), floor layouts, and process workflows to support efficient, safe, and scalable manufacturing operations.
Own and lead Machine Shop data reporting processes, including KPI definition, data accuracy, and metric dashboards to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
BS degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
Proven applications of lean manufacturing techniques
Strong mechanical and blueprint reading knowledge
Must have a strong propensity towards continuous improvement and have a high sense of urgency
Self-managed - Ability to work unsupervised and work well within a team environment with the ability to work in a team environment while directing technical resources
Excellent communication (verbal/written) and relationship management skills
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proficient in MS office software
May require some travel but will be minimal
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a CNC machine shop or industrial manufacturing environment, with hands-on exposure to machining processes and shop-floor operations.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo (Pro Engineer), including experience working with detailed part and assembly drawings.
Experience supporting new product development (NPD) initiatives, including prototype builds, production launches, and process validation.
Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, KPI tracking, and manufacturing performance reporting.
