Engineer Product I - Electronics SystemsMajor PurposePerforms basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation.Major Duties? Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.? Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.? Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.? Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.? Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.? Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.? Work collaboratively with other professional teams and over organizational boundaries to ensure service users experience cohesive and seamless support to meet their needs.? Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.? Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.Skills, Abilities, Knowledge? Major Purpose:
Design, modify and evaluate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals using Computer Aided Design Tools (CAD). Operates in a team environment, uses technical judgment with oversight, and is considered the entry level design position.
Major Duties:
Responsible for placement of components and routing of electronic circuits to create a PCB layout in Xpedition CAD Software. This is done with guidance from experienced PCB engineers and with review and approval from the full team.
Analyze technical requirements written by others to determine direction and then operate in a team environment, to finalize design solutions. Decisions are made within established guidelines, such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and reviewed by senior team members.
Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure own work adheres to these. This also includes Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Provide input to design solutions and participate in design reviews that include the manufacturers
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals
Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur
Support the team in data maintenance, including peer checking components for the part library
Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures. As needed, contribute to projects that focus on improvements to close identified gaps.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or equivalent experience
Open to applicants graduating in Spring 2026
Preferred is a Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering
