Konik is partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented manufacturer specializing in custom engineered materials and components. This organization partners closely with customers from concept through production, delivering highly tailored solutions across a range of industrial applications.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys selling complex, custom solutionsworking directly with engineers, product developers, and decision-makers to bring new products to life. It combines technical problem-solving with business development and offers strong long-term growth potential within a stable, well-respected organization.

Responsibilities

Drive new business development (approximately 70%) through prospecting, networking, and relationship building

Manage and grow existing customer accounts (approximately 30%)

Collaborate with customers to understand product requirements, materials, and performance needs

Partner with internal engineering and production teams to develop custom solutions

Lead sales efforts from initial engagement through quoting, negotiation, and close

Conduct client meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to support project development

Maintain pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer communication

Support ongoing customer relationships to ensure successful product delivery and satisfaction

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in technical sales within manufacturing, engineered materials, or industrial environments

Experience selling custom or engineered solutions (vs. off-the-shelf products)

Strong ability to communicate with engineers, product development teams, and non-technical stakeholders

Self-starter mindset with the ability to drive new business independently

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage long sales cycles and complex project-based work

Preferred Experience

Experience with foam, plastics, polymers, or related materials

Background in fabrication, converting, or custom manufacturing processes

Familiarity working with OEM customers or product development teams

Engineering or technical education/background is a plus

Additional Role Details

In-office initially, with potential for flexibility over time

Approximately 15% travel, primarily regional with limited overnight travel

Structured ramp-up period (typically 12-24 months to full productivity)

Long sales cycles involving product development, prototyping, and engineering collaboration

Opportunity to grow into larger account ownership and expanded responsibilities over time
