Job Description
Senior GCP Lead Engineer - Cloud Networking, Terraform & Kubernetes (GKE/GCE) - 68152
Pay Rate: $70 -$75/hr
We have an urgent need for a Senior GCP Lead Engineer based in Raleigh, NC, USA, to lead cloud networking architecture and infrastructure automation initiatives in a highly scalable enterprise environment.
In this role, you will design and implement advanced networking solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, Cloud NAT, VPNs, Interconnect, and Private Service Connect. You will build reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, enforcing governance through policy-as-code frameworks and CI/CD integrations. The role involves architecting networking for both GCE and GKE workloads, including private clusters, ingress/egress design, IP aliasing, and secure access patterns. You will design hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity solutions, implement observability using cloud monitoring and network intelligence tools, and ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Additionally, you will lead technical design reviews, mentor engineering teams, and drive best practices for secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in GCP networking, including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, and secure architecture patterns. Deep expertise in Terraform for building modular, reusable, and governed infrastructure is essential. Experience with Kubernetes, particularly GKE networking, and compute services like GCE is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, network security principles such as zero trust and least privilege, and observability tools. Proven ability to lead architecture decisions, mentor teams, and deliver enterprise-scale cloud solutions is critical, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
