You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for an Air Dominance program. Our team is responsible for producing design key components of the missile system and associated test equipment.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and improvement to mechanical fixtures for production test. They will also work with a cross-functional team to conduct Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) surveys and perform the required analysis to implement during functional testing. This position supports the Air Dominance Weapon System program in Orlando, FL.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for mechanical fixtures used in the production test environment
Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
Supporting & upgrading test equipment hardware designs for unit under test (UUT) fixturing
Support the build and assembly of hardware and test fixtures
Conducting thermal/vibration surveys and performing analysis report generation
Analyzing failures/anomalies associated with test equipment, UUTs, UUT fixturing, and providing recommended solutions
Coordinating with production teams to maintain test fixture and equipment uptime
Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews

Strong understanding of mechanical design engineering principles, structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform moderately complex tolerance analysis
Minimum 1 year experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software
Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
Have the ability to work with team members and contribute to projects
Have the ability to contributed to investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams
Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills
Ability to travel occasionally to support test equipment assembly and checkout in factory environmentExperience with test fixture design
Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
Knowledge of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), RCC319, and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS)/Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) activities
Experience with model- based product definition
Familiarity with DEWESoft Suite
Experience with missile programs
