Responsibilities/Duties:
Ability to analyze and reverse-engineer hydraulic systems
Experience reading and creating:
Hydraulic schematics
P&IDs
Technical drawings
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Knowledge of:
Pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators
Hydraulic power units (HPUs)
Sealing systems and materials
Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS)
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Strong troubleshooting mindset
Ability to:
Identify system inefficiencies
Recreate missing documentation
Improve legacy designs
Data-driven approach to testing and validation
Soft Skills
Clear technical documentation skills
Cross-functional collaboration (manufacturing, design, quality)

Strong communication skills
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Strong understanding of:
Fluid mechanics
Hydraulic circuits and components
Thermodynamics
Mechanical design principles
Certifications in hydraulics (e.g., from organizations like the International Fluid Power Society) are a plus
Practical Experience
3-7+ years working with:
Industrial hydraulic systems
Mobile hydraulics (construction, mining, agriculture equipment)
Heavy machinery troubleshooting
Hands-on disassembly and inspection experience
Failure analysis and root cause investigation
Exposure to manufacturing processes and tolerances
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with reverse engineering using 3D scanning
Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, SAE)
Experience in regulated industries (defense, aerospace, oil & gas)
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety Glasses and steel/safety toed work boots are required.
Other PPE equipment as required.
Ear plugs in the clean up area
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant shop environment
