This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Mechanical Engineer looking to grow their skills in real-world product development within the Powersports industryPosition OverviewThis position is ideal for an early-career Mechanical Engineer seeking hands-on experience designing and developing consumer products for the Powersports industry. The role supports the full product development lifecycle- from concept and prototyping through production - while working closely with experienced engineers, designers, brand managers, and suppliers.This role blends mechanical engineering fundamentals with practical product design, manufacturing considerations, and rapid iteration.Key Responsibilities

Conceptual Design: Develop initial sketches and visual imagery to communicate new product ideas.

3D Modeling: Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed models, part drawings, and assembly instructions.

Prototyping: Build physical models using 3D printing and various workshop tools to test design functionality and product capability

Collaboration: Work with senior engineers and brand managers to refine designs based on manufacturing limits and customer needs.

Participate in design reviews and contribute technical input and recommendations

Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining Design Records, including Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications and product instructions.

Market Analysis: Contribute to market and competitive product research to identify opportunities and design trends.

Industry Awareness: Stay informed on Powersports industry developments, materials, and manufacturing technologies

What We're Looking For (Requirements)

Software Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD and Surfacing) and Microsoft Office. Experience with MS Project or rapid prototyping software is a plus.

Engineering Calculations: Utilize engineering tools to evaluate designs and verify functional rationale of product verification.

Hands-on Ability: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to use hand or power tools for model fabrication.

Communication: Strong sketching skills and the ability to clearly explain technical concepts in words and images.

Mindset: A highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is eager to think outside the box and solve complex technical challenges.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

Experience with prototyping, 3D printing, or shop-fabricating tools

Internship, co-op, or early professional experience in product or mechanical design

Familiarity with consumer products, automotive, or powersports applications.

Sketching or visual communication skills to support concept ideation

Education

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

ExperienceRequirements

1-3 years of relevant experience in mechanical or product design engineering, including internships or co-op experience.Hands-on project experience demonstrating practical application of engineering fundamentals.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
