Essential Job Functions
With or without reasonable accommodation, the successful candidate will:
- Lead and manage the successful introduction of new wire harness products and projects and the
enhancement of existing products for the Company's OEM, fleet, trailer, and body market
customers.
- Use CAD to design wire harness/lighting systems for trucks, trailers, and truck bodies and to
revise existing harness drawings to current engineering standards.
- Use NPI guidelines to deliver harness projects on time and at the best possible price.
- Support application development, quote and design development, process management, and
the successful installation of products at customer sites.
- Work with body and trailer market customers to identify targets for proactive application
development and standardization of wire harnesses and systems.
- Develop and evaluate new harness and concepts to meet customer needs.
- Develop and evaluate new concepts and designs, program requirements, and timelines to
support the Company's sales strategy/objectives.
- Assist sales personnel in technical expertise to support customer needs.
- Support harness tooling projects and capability studies.
- Support harness cost reduction engineering, formal product specifications development, and
project design constraints.
- Provide product engineering support to manufacturing engineering and the manufacturing floor.
- Develop working knowledge of Truck-Lite product lines to support customer's technical needs.
- Utilize/develop communication tools for harness business/projects.
- Support any other activities as directed.
- Position requires compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export and
Control Policy established for the Corporate
Qualifications
- 2 or 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Project management experience, MS project, PC skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/Access), 2D
drafting experience; 3D experience would be beneficial.
- 2 - 4 years of related experience.
