About the Team:
The Additive Technology team operates at the frontier of research and development, w creativity meets capability. This is an R D-driven environment w problems are open-ended and solutions are yours to define. You'll work alongside welders, robotics engineers, data scientists, and systems engineers at the intersection of hardware and software, creating an end-to-end additive manufacturing platform that serves a wide variety of applications. From exploring new materials to unlocking faster speeds, to designing complex,anic geometries that can't be built any other way, it's high-impact work that sets the foundation for the future of additive manufacturing.
About the Role:
Mechanical engineer that will collaborate with the additive weld team on designing and advancing proprietary metal 3D ing processes and equipment on Stargate ers
Capable of integrating concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis of several different projects in a fast-paced environment - projects will vary in size and scale
Collaboration with weld, robotics, simulation, and process teams to derive requirements, set goals, and meet needs of the company and customers
Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, equipment installation, and commissioning of designs
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Utilize rapid prototyping to iterate and refine designs quickly
About You:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5+ years of experience of design, build, and testing, of mechanical structures and mechanisms
Solid understanding of design for manufacturability and design for assembly including experience taking products from prototype design to production
Proficiency in CAD and creating drawings
Able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to haves but not required:
Experience with designing automation equipment and mechanisms
Solid understanding of general 3D ing design, limitations, and use
Experience with hands on fabrication including mills and lathes
Knowledge on running and programming a CNC is a plus
Ability to use rapid prototyping methods and technologies to advance designs
