Lead Manufacturing Engineering Technician - 1st Shift - Now Hiring

The Lead Manufacturing Engineering Tech involves enhancing key functional areas including Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Principles of Finance, Materials, and Quality. The overall objectives for participants in the Lead Manufacturing Engineering Tech are as follows: The Lead Manufacturing Engineering Tech will engage in the following activities: o Support daily production detrackers to drive to root cause in collaborative environment. o Actively drive 5s+ in the plant, work to obtain certification in 5s+ in 18 months. o Actively apply the usage of A3 Problem Solving , obtain certification in 18 months o Co-Coordinate and monitor projects as assigned to schedule to meet close dates. o Demonstrate understanding and basic capabilities of AutoCAD (2D plant drawings, cell layouts, etc). o Demonstrate understanding of Project Management by working with department Program Manager OPEX to understand principles of project management and overarching structure of ProLAUNCH. o Acts as a strong advocate of Lean operating principles and database decision making such as Six Sigma and SPC by obtaining GB (green belt) certification. o Collaborate with Ops/VS Manager to achieving department goals, objectives and develops and maintains performance metrics in partnership with VS leadership. Uses those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within the work area. Prepare for future role as Manufacturing Engineering position (*4 year degree required) Evaluation reviews will be done monthly for monitoring progress towards goals. Associate degree from an accredited institution, 2 year in manufacturing environment -OR- 3 years of Team Lead AND/OR Utility experience, plus 3 years of continuous improvement in manufacturing environment Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint Authorized to work in the United States of America without requiring company sponsorship. Must reside within 50 miles of Waukesha, WI. Relevant experience in shop operations such as machining, assembly, fabrication required as well as manufacturing systems such as Lean, Shop Floor Control, MRP, routings, BOMs , SPC, and ISO 9000, MiniTab, and MS-Project Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Understanding of production scheduling and product flow Strong technical knowledge in any of the following areas: machinery, tooling, gauging, metal fabrication, assembly, welding.
